Tapered Scope
Handmade tapered kaleidoscope made with tapered pieces of fusible glass with multible color highlights. The kaleidoscope is topped with a clear textured glass. This tapered shape produces 3-dimensional spherical mandalas that appear to project towards the viewer. The kaleidoscope is intended to stand on the viewing end providing a eye-catching shelf display.
This scope has been finished in a silver solder look with decorative solder techniques to provide and interesting look to the scope as it sits on your shelf.
This Kaleidoscope was made in Jim’s home-based studio in Papillion, Nebraska in February 2020. He started making kaleidoscopes in earnest in 2015 after many years doing regular stained glass work. He enjoys making kaleidoscopes believing that they are the kind of item that can be handed down from generation to generation.
